There is a great range of restaurants within a few minutes of our house. Here are a few that we can recommend from experience. Big Buddha Café - Five minutes drive from the house by the waters edge at big Buddha. Great for pre dinner drinks while the sun sets over the ocean. The Starfish and Coffee - In Fisherman's Village at Bohput. Fresh seafood and superb steaks in a romantic setting over the beach.

The Tongsai Bay - On the road to Chaweng, the Tongsai Bay has several high quality restaurants.

The Captains Choice - At the Boat House Hotel at Choeng Mon between Samrong and Chaweng. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner overlooking the beach.

The Drop Inn - In the centre of Chaweng. An international menu and entertainment nightly.

Samui Seafood - Also in the centre of Chaweng. The sister to The Drop Inn with a great range of fresh seafood at reasonable prices.

Poppies - At the south end of Chaweng overlooking the beach. Poppies is a superb restaurant, slightly more expensive than most of the competition but highly recommended for that special occasion.

Chez Andy - In the centre of Chaweng. Recommended for steaks and the salad bar.

Prego - On the outskirts of Chaweng opposite the Amari Hotel, this contemporary Italian restaurant is among the best we have found anywhere and is currently our favourite Koh Samui dining spot.
